About us

Places to visit on the Costa del Sol / Things to do.

Our holiday rental apartment is located in Sitio de Calahonda, on the  Costa del Sol, Southern Spain, so you are located within easy reach of the beach and numerous other tourist attractions.

Calahonda is only 25 minutes drive from Málaga International Airport so it’s easy to get to from the airport and cosmopolitan Málaga city.

Here are just a few of the many places our guests choose to visit while on holiday;

Marbella, a modern city with an attractive “old town” where the historic buildings and ambiance have been carefully preserved. Renowned for its shopping by day and thriving night-life (approximately 10 minutes drive).

Puerto Banus, an area famous for its popularity with the "jet set" visitors. Keep your eyes open, you never know who you will see here but a word of warning, look do not buy, prices here are much more expensive than most other areas (approximately 20 minutes drive).

Reputed as being the biggest water-park in Europe, "Aqua-Park", is in Torremolinos. It has a massive choice of attractions ranging from the giant water slides, foam slides, The Black Hole, Wild River and The Kamikaze to the more sedate children's water park, bubble pool and Aquatic mushroom. Something for all ages and degree's of adventure (approximately 20 minutes drive).

There is another water-park, "Parque Aquatic Mijas", which is located in Fuengirola. It again has a variety of attractions from body ski slide to labyrinth slide, from Kamikaze slide to children's play area the children's, Aqualandia (approximately 15 minutes drive).

Trivoli World is said to be the biggest Theme Park on the Costa del Sol.  It is located at Benalmadena. At Trivoli World, you will find a variety of attractions and amusements coupled with shows and restaurants.  It is usually open from afternoon until late at night (approximately 20 minutes drive).

Paintball Marbella, the name speaks for itself. If you and the kids fancy an action packed day this may well be for you.

Horse riding. Fancy a canter on the beach or a trek into the mountains, try El Jinete a British owned riding school and stables at La Cala (15 minutes drive.)

Quad Trekking or off-road motorcycling, again it speak for it self. (Marbella, 15 minutes drive.)

Multi-lane ten pin bowling and full size amusement arcade. La Cananda shopping mall, Marbella (15 minutes drive,)

For those with a head for heights and a liking for spectacular views there is the cable car, Telecabina. It starts near Trivoli World and takes you to the top of the mountain range above Benalmadena.  Do not forget your jacket it will be hot where you start but you go mighty high up in those mountains! The views are spectacular but it is definitely not a ride for those wary of heights (approximately 20 minutes drive).

There is a Sea life Centre at Benalmadena (approximately 20 minutes drive).

Gibraltar is in our opinion too close to miss. You can visit the historic tunnels which have been literally carved through "The Rock" during various wars, visit the famous apes high on the island, visit the natural grottos where they hold underground concerts or just enjoy some of the islands popular duty free shopping. Alternatively, you could take a Dolphin and Whale Safari off Gibraltar by boat or take a day trip to the African mainland. It's a fair drive but we think it’s worth it (approximately 90 minutes drive).

Selwo Adventure Park is at Estapona.  Selwo is "an out of Africa experience." The Spanish Safari (approximately 30 minutes drive).

The Go-Carting Centre at Fuengirola has two circuits and is suitable for all age groups (approximately 15 minutes drive).

For the golf lovers, the Costa del Sol is understandably known as the Costa del Golf. There is an abundance of courses ranging from championship to the "not so challenging." After you try one of the more difficult courses you may (as we did) decide that it's time to improve the standard of your golf at the world famous Leadbetter Gold Academy at nearby La Cala. We can personally recommend the academy but we have found that pre-booking is advisable due to the popularity of the school. Whatever your standard how can you fail to enjoy a game when the weather is so fantastic and there is such a variety of courses to choose from?

Oh and if you have time you could always have a day on the beach, which one, take your pick.

We are sure you will find many more attractions, they are too numerous to mention. We supply the venue, you supply the enjoyment!
